Baby Laundry Tips and Products

Baby Laundry Tips and Products

Happy Tuesday amazing readers! ¬†Thank you for visiting my blog today. ūüôā ¬†Today, ¬†I will be sharing what I learned as a new mom when it comes to doing Naila’s laundry from the moment that I washed her very first newborn outfits until now.

mariah-mom-quotes-660

As a new mom all I knew was that I had to wash most of her Newborn clothes before she was born so that they were ready for her. ¬†I wasn’t really thinking about how many times her poop would come out of her diaper or how many times she would spit up on me and on herself. ¬†That was definitely a new mom moment.

Not all detergents are suitable for your baby’s sensitive skin. ¬†My favorite baby laundry products are from Dreft.

Favorite Products:

Dreft Stage 1: Newborn, is a hypoallergenic baby laundry detergent that has an irresistible baby scent.  Not all hypoallergenic detergents are good at removing tough stains but this one did a good job until she started eating solids.

Dreft Stage 2: Active baby, is what I started using when she started eating solids.  This one also has the lovely baby scent and is tougher on stains.  Your infants skin is less sensitive at this age.

Baby Oxi Clean: I started using this when the stains were too tough.  I place her stained clothes in a solution of warm water mixed with the Oxi Clean and leave it there for about 15 mins. and then I continue to wash with the Dreft Stage 2 detergent.

As they turn older, by older I mean 1-year-old for us at least, the smell of the detergent doesn’t stay for long anymore so I started using¬†Dreft blissfuls in-wash scent beads¬†which contain the same scent and it just makes the scent stronger which makes it last longer. ūüôā ¬†I just love baby scent!

Tips:

  • If you want your baby’s clothes to shrink wash them in warm or hot water and dry in high heat. ¬†If you don’t want them to shrink then do the opposite, all cold.
  • For your baby’s clothes¬†not to look worn don’t dry them in heat just air dry.
  • For their tiny socks use a¬†wash bag¬†to place them in while washing or else you will probably lose a few since they are tiny.
  • Wash stained clothes and items such as burp cloths together and wash delicate and non stained items separately.

If you have any questions at all feel free to ask. ¬†ūüôā ¬†If I left anything out, leave it in the comment section. ¬†If you have not yet subscribed to my blog just enter your email in the follow tab down below on the right hand side.

Toddler and Infant Oral Health

Toddler and Infant Oral Health

Happy Tuesday amazing people! ¬†Today I will be sharing tips and items that we use to keep Naila’s gums and teeth squeaky clean. ¬†ūüôāqotd

It is important to take care of your child’s oral health from birth, even if they don’t have teeth yet you should still wipe their gums with this along with warm water after each feeding. ¬†We personally took Naila to her first dentist appointment when she was 6 months old and continue to take her every 3 months since then.

Naila didn’t have any teeth until a little before she turned 1 year old. ¬†Her 2 bottom and 2 top teeth decided to come out at the same time.

Her 4 little cute teeth. ūüôā

Since then we have been brushing her teeth and gums daily with this toothbrush¬†and this toothpaste, these are both amazing products. ¬†The toothpaste that we use is free of fluoride and it is safe if swallowed. ¬†Naila is good with letting me brush her teeth, she always does it with a smile. ūüôā ¬†I am truly a lucky mom. ¬†For sanitary purposes we store her toothbrush in¬†Flipper Animal World Flipper Cover.

Parents beware of the amount of juice that your baby is consuming daily.  Sugar can cause tooth decay in babies quickly since their teeth are naturally more sensitive than that of adults because it can take several years for the enamel on newly emerged teeth to harden after baby teeth have been lost.  Children who drink sodas and sports drinks are at a greater risk for cavities and enamel loss than those who do not.  Water is a must always, for children and adults.

1. Pacifier Clips:

IMG_2409

Pacifier clips¬†always keep her pacifier from touching the floor, they can also be used to hold teething toys. ¬†These¬†specific ones we’ve had for a few months, they are durable and cute.

Baby Bling Bows¬†are Naila’s signature piece she wears one almost every day. ¬†They make any outfit look amazing.

3. Amber Teething Necklace:

Baltic Amber Teething Necklace is amazing for teething babies.  It is an anti-flammatory and it helps reduce drooling, teething pain, and helps with fussiness.

The scrunchies that we used for her hair in the picture above are linked here.

Baby’s Favorite Reads

Baby’s Favorite Reads

Happy Saturday! ¬†I hope everyone’s day has been great and productive so far. ¬†ūüôā ¬†If you guys didn’t know, Naila loves books. ¬†Which is great because the importance of reading to¬†young children cannot be emphasised enough and we as parents need to make reading a priority.

IMG_2128

Today I will be sharing some of Naila’s favorite books.

  1. The Very Hungry Caterpillar

IMG_8027 2

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a picture book written and illustrated by Eric Carle. It follows the life cycle of a caterpillar as it starts by coming out of its egg, all the way to becoming a butterfly. ¬†It teaches the days of the week and counting up to five. ¬†Most of Naila’s books are bilingual.

Bilingual version linked here.

2. Goodnight Moon

IMG_3456 3

Goodnight Moon was written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd. ¬†It is a classic children’s bedtime story written about a rabbit’s routine before he goes to bed. ¬†Before his bedtime, the rabbit goes around the room and notices items within eyesight and says goodnight to all of them. ¬†As the story continues, the rabbit gets more and more tired before finally saying “Goodnight noises everywhere,” just as he falls asleep.

Bilingual version linked here.

3. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

IMG_4439 2

This book has a very entertaining and interactive story line about the alphabet. ¬†It begins with the beginning of the alphabet climbing to the top of the coconut tree. ¬†The remaining letters follow action with a rhyming tune to follow. ¬†The letters are having a great time until the tree becomes too full and ‚ÄúChicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom!‚ÄĚ

4. Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

IMG_1017 2

The repetitive structure makes it a perfect read-aloud with very young children. ¬†This book is¬†beloved for its brightly colored art by Eric Carle and simple, rhyming text by Bill Martin Jr. ¬†The lines are easy to memorize, encouraging even toddlers to “read” along. ¬†Pre-readers can practice identifying color and animal words.

This concludes Naila’s favorite reads.

Baby food necessities

Baby food necessities

IMG_6294 Good evening, I hope everyone is having an amazing Thursday!  Today Naila and I are sharing our must haves and favorite baby food/ solid food necessities.

We started her food journey with rice cereal when she was almost 6 months old.  After that she was introduced to puree foods, then to the more chunky foods and now at almost 11 months old she can pretty much eat anything just not in big pieces yet since her teeth have not came in yet.

Introducing her to new foods everyday is so exciting, just seeing her reaction makes my day every day. ¬†Until this day we haven’t given her anything that she dislikes. ¬†Which is amazing!!

FAVORITE ITEMS71Heb53nXAL._SX522_

1.  The most useful item has to be the Fisher Price Sit Me Up Floor Seat, I use this seat every single day to feed her or just to play with her.  You can start using this as soon as they have full head control.  What is great about this item is that it folds flat, so you can take it with you wherever you go which is a plus.

2.  Spoons are a necessity for them to learn to eat rice cereal or puree foods.  We love a few kinds the Munchkin Infant Safety Spoons, the Nuby spoons, and the Munchkin soft tip spoons.  Somehow spoons are easy to loose so we are actually purchasing a new set soon we are going to try the BEABA spoon set.

IMG_0075
Here she is chewing on one of her Munchkin spoons.

3.  As a stay at home mom, staying in every single day can become a challenge which is why we go on outings a few times a week.  I love having items in her diaper bag that I can easily use and then throw away.  Disposable items make life so much easier.  We love disposable bibs, and disposable table toppers.

IMG_0561

When we use a public high chair we use the high chair/shopping cart cover.91hFNp9d9WL._SX522_

4. ¬†At around 9 months babies are allowed to drink water along with their food. ¬†The¬†OXO Tot transition soft spout sippy cup¬†is the best sippy cup that I have tried so far and it’s spill proof. ¬†Recently she has started drinking out of straws so I ordered the¬†OXO Tot transition straw cup¬†and we love it equally.

So cute with her OXO tot sippy cup in pink.

5.  When we are home and she uses her high chair to eat I like to have her use the Bumkins waterproof sleeved bib and the Bumkins waterproof splat mat these 2 together make any mess easy to clean.

FAVORITE ORGANIC FOODS AND SNACKS ūüôā

1. ¬†We keep both baby food jars and pouches. ¬†But honestly my favorite are the baby food pouches just because they are so compact and so easy to handle while feeding and you can use a spoon with them if you choose to but you don’t have to.¬†¬†You can also use the¬†ChooMee SoftSip food pouch tops ¬†so that baby can hold and eat from the food pouch without making a mess and if there are any leftovers you can just close the pouch top and save for later, it’s genius. ¬†ūüôā

Our favorite puree foods as of now are the following:

2. ¬†My baby loves snacks, who doesn’t right? ¬†Snacks are a must in my diaper bag. ¬†Our favorite are the following:

Love to Dream Swaddle Up

Love to Dream Swaddle Up

Happy Tuesday amazing readers!!

Today I will be talking about another of my baby must have items, the amazing Love to Dream swaddles.  This swaddle allowed my baby to self-soothe anytime that she was taking a nap or sleeping at night.  Medical research suggests that babies sleep better, and for longer, if they are able to self-soothe.

Below are pictures of my daughter wearing them when she was about a month old.  She loved the Love to Dream Swaddles.

IMG_5307IMG_5216

Other swaddles keep your baby’s hands away from their faces, which can be very uncomfortable for a baby especially because in the womb their hands are naturally placed by their face while they sleep or when they are hungry.

The Love to Dream Swaddles don’t keep your baby from being able to move his/her hands up to their face and the best part is that their hands are fully covered, which means that they won’t end up with scratches all over their cute little faces. ¬†It also features a two-way zipper for those rough late night diaper changes.

You can purchase the swaddle here!  They offer different colors and sizes, below are examples of some of the different options.
